AMERICAN ELM TREES  "VALLEY FORGE"  - A new American elm tree variety released by the US USDA National Arboretum in 1995 after 20 years of research. American elm Valley Forge possess the classic American elm tree shape, upright-arching. Transplants easily, prefers rich, moist soil and exhibits tolerance to air pollution and poor soil conditions. American elms are pH tolerant and show good soil salt tolerance. Elm trees are fast-growing and they adapt to adverse climates and other conditions that can be fatal to maples, oaks and other popular landscape choices. Ulmus Americana grows 60 to 80 feet and some are known to exceed 110 feet with a spread of 1/2 to 2/3's the height. Hardy in zones 3 through 9. Leaves are a lustrous dark green in summer turning yellow in the fall. Release of this new American elm variety presents a great opportunity to plant an old American favorite. Other new American elms include "NEW HARMONY"  and  "PRINCETON"
 

FRONTIER ELM - Asian hybrid - Ulmus 'Frontier'
NEW  ELM TREE VARIETY released in 1990--Resistant to  Phloem Necrosis and to Dutch elm disease

Frontier is a new hybrid elm release from the U. S. National Arboretum, an elm tree of moderate stature with an attractive red Fall color. Frontier is ideal for use in smaller landscapes, along urban streets, and under power lines. Has a high tolerance to Dutch elm disease and natural infections of elm yellows.  Matures at 40' with a spread of 30 feet. Zones 5 - 8.  Click here to view U.S. National Arboretum fact sheet.

Nordmann Fir: Gold Medal Plant Winner
Abies norrdmanniana
Plants are 12 to 15 inches high, grown in 8 inch containers. They are hardy in zones 5 to 7. This is a disease and insect resistant Fir adapted for the warmer areas of zones 6 & 7. Will take the heat of zone 7 with afternoon shade, has good dark green color with a narrow pyramidal growth. Prefers a moist well drained soil, grows to 50 feet.  A 1994 Pennsylvania Horticulture Society Gold Medal Plant Winner

Sky Pencil Holly is a U. S. National Arboretum introduction. A narrow evergreen upright holly for privacy screening and for evergreen hedges, or specimens.

Chaparral Weeping fruitless Mulberry
Morus alba pendula
A fruitless weeping Mulberry, tough disease and insect resistant variety with yellow fall color. Hardy to zone 4, grows to 12 ft. with a spread of 16 ft. Bright green, glossy foliage.

Knock Out™ Rose is a compact, tidy shrub rose and resistant to black-spot. Blooms are fire engine red in cool weather and cherry red in the summer months. The foliage is a dark purplish green and turns to burgundy in the fall. Tough foliage and blooms resist Japanese beetles. Knockout is drought tolerant and requires only 3 to 4 hours of sunlight per day maturing to a 3 foot x 3 foot winter hardy shrub.

Blushing Knock Out™ Rose

Blushing Knock Out™ Rose is a tough and hardy shrub type rose with outstanding disease resistance. Blooms are light pink gradually changing to shell pink as the bloom ages. Leaves are a mossy green with blue hues. Blushing Knock Out™ will bloom early in the Spring and continue blooming until the first hard frost in the Fall. Blushing Knock Out™ is drought tolerant, Blackspot resistant, mildew tolerant and self-cleaning. An excellent choice for a trouble free rose garden. Great plant for hedge, border or foundation planting.

Pink Knock Out™ Rose

Pink Knock Out™ Rose is a tough and hardy shrub type rose (3x4) with outstanding disease resistance. Blooms are a powerful pink. Leaves are a mossy green with blue hues. Plant anywhere that gets 5 or more hours of direct sunlight each day. Thrives in humid climates. Pink Knock Out™ will bloom early in the Spring and continue blooming until the first hard frost in the Fall. Pink Knock Out™ is drought tolerant, Blackspot resistant, mildew tolerant and self-cleaning. An excellent choice for a trouble free rose garden. Great plant for hedge, border or foundation planting.


Dawn Redwood - Metasequoia glyptostroboides.  This beautiful and unique  tree will grow to 40 to 50'  in 20 yrs. Matures at 70 to 100' with a spread of 25'. Hardy in zones 5 to 8.

Red maples Autumn Blaze, Brandywine. All are superior red maple trees and display brilliant fall color.

Canada Red Choke Cherry - Canada Red Choke Cherry is a small tree, maturing at about 20-25 feet in height with a rounded spread of 20 feet. Foliage is a medium green turning yellow-orange in the fall. Has white flowers in late April. Very attractive to wildlife. Tissue cultured.   We now have 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 ft. trees in 5 gallon containers.

Persian Ironwood Parrotia - Persian Ironwood Parrotia is comparatively small tree reaching heights of 20-40 feet with moderate growth. It has grayish exfoliating bark and a mottled fall color. It will tolerate full sun and drought conditions.  

Dogwood Trees -
Dogwood trees are some of the most beautiful flowering trees in the landscape.

Hydrangea Macrophylla  -  We specialize in cold hardy, (remontant) re-blooming pink or blue mophead hydrangea Macrophylla varieties Endless Summer, Penny Mac, David Ramsey hydrangea that continue to bloom through the summer and fall every year. They will produce magnificent pink to grape to blue blooms depending on the Ph of your soil and availability of Al via Aluminum Sulfate.  

Redbud trees are some of the most beautiful of all the spring flowering trees. We are happy to offer 4 of the newest and most vigorous cultivars. Ours are not budded or grafted but are on their own roots from cuttings or tissue culture. This procedure prevents reversion to the old stock plant and gives more health and vigor.
